If the weather had any effect on the Pine River Library's "Love Your Library" event Sunday, it was because the weather was too nice.
But lots of folks did come. They got to enjoy chili, cornbread muffins, and cakes with white and red frosting.
They also heard Bayfield Middle School beginner and more advanced string groups perform. The groups are happening through the Be FRANK Foundation and string teacher Lech Usinowicz. Many of the kids and Mr. U sported one-of-a-kind Be FRANK T-shirts that they sell as a fundraiser to supplement the music education provided by the school district.
Library staffer Tim Lovejoy also played for visitors.
Visitors also had a chance to make Valentines cards, learn about the upcoming STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math) program at the library and the new Heritage Hub program to help older patrons preserve their histories, and the new science area within the kids' section of the library.
Or they could just sit outside and enjoy the unseasonable weather.
