Logic of concealed carry bill is flawed

Senate Bill 446, the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act, would force all states to accept as valid concealed carry permits issued in one state.

This creates a situation where the lowest common denominator of public safety throughout the nation is applied to all of us. It would also allow anybody with a concealed carry permit to do so on any federal land, such as national parks or national monuments, and gun-free school zones.

If this so-called logic applies to guns, why not apply it to marijuana? It is legal here in Colorado. Should we be allowed to use it in any and all states?

Why stop there? Colorado has what is called “opportunity voting laws.” Colorado makes it easy for residents to register to vote with mail-in voting. Why not use this same logic to pass a law that allows any state resident anywhere in the U.S. to mail-in a ballot? The possibilities to apply this flawed logic are endless.

Call our senators and tell them to vote no on SB 446 if it comes up for a vote.
