LPEA announces Round Up grants for July

The La Plata Electric Association Round Up Foundation has announced the grants to nonprofit organizations awarded in July. Funding is generated when LPEA members opt to “round up” their electric bills and from Round Up Plus donations.

During the Round Up Foundation board meeting in July, Round Up grants were made to Loaves & Fishes of Archuleta County ($2,000), the Pagosa Springs Historical Museum ($1,057) and the Upper San Juan Search and Rescue ($2,187), with the Archuleta County Education Center receiving the “Educational Grant” ($4,791), which is encompassed within the Round Up Foundation.

During the July grant cycle, the LPEA Round Up Foundation received more $15,000 in requests for grants, but only $5,000 was available for distribution.
