La Plata Electric Association funds annual scholarships for high school graduating students, including GED graduates, within the co-op’s service territory, using contributed Unclaimed Capital Credits to encourage careers with rural electric cooperatives.
LPEA will award two, four-year scholarships (140 credit hours) for students attending any college or university beginning with the 2019-20 academic year. LPEA will cover tuition, books and fees, up to $28,000 over four years, given the student maintains minimum qualifications.

Application deadline is Monday. The official LPEA scholarship application, essay, high school transcript, SAT/ACT scores and reference letter(s) constitute application.
