La Plata Electric Association recently promoted Drew Timmerman to IT supervisor and hired Lonnie Tucker to the member relations team as communications coordinator.
Timmerman is from Springfield, Mo., moved to Durango to attend Fort Lewis College, where he worked part-time at LPEA in the engineering department, and left to graduate in computer science from University of Colorado at Boulder. He returned to LPEA in 2000 to work in the IT department, and was hired as network administrator in 2009. Timmerman will oversee the team responsible for information technology systems at LPEA in his new position.
Tucker is from Dayton, Ohio, attended University of Florida, worked for 14 years at Anheuser-Busch, and returned to college to graduate in journalism from University of Missouri. He worked for 12 years as a communications specialist at Cuivre River Electric before being hired at LPEA.
