Mac Ranch student outreach program provides computers to students in need

The Mac Ranch is seeking donations of old iMacs, MacBooks and PCs from the year 2008 or newer with an Intel-based processor. Donated computers will be refurbished and given away as part of its Student Tech Outreach Program, a program designed to address the need for technology many students are lacking to study at home throughout the COVID-19 crisis.

The Mac Ranch hopes to ease the technological strain for households by refurbishing donated computers and installing an open source linux-based software that works well for online access. It has donated 20 computers to students and hopes to continue the project through community donations. Power cords, mice and keyboards are also appreciated.

For donations or questions, contact The Mac Ranch at 259-1187, info@macranch.com, or at 1063 Main Ave.
