A Farmington man suspected of choking his girlfriend was arrested Tuesday morning for attempt to commit murder in the second degree, a Class 4 felony.
Bryan Hernandez, 35, is suspected of choking his 23-year-old pregnant girlfriend at Days End, 2202 Main Ave., on Monday afternoon.
Hernandez fled the motel on foot when authorities arrived and was seen near Durango High School, but police were unable to find him until they checked on the victim Tuesday morning, said Ray Shupe, spokesman for the Durango Police Department.
Hernandez was in the room at the Days End with the woman and was arrested without incident, Shupe said.
He is being held at the La Plata County jail on $50,000 bond.
