A Durango man died early Saturday from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
La Plata County Coroner Jann Smith identified the man as Erich Bussian, 53.
The incident was reported about 5:30 a.m. in the 400 block of East Fifth Avenue, she said.
According to his Facebook page, Bussian was CEO of Freenotes Harmony Park, which produces outdoor music instruments for community gardens, playgrounds, urban centers and other locations.
His last post was July 13 and included a picture with the text: “There comes a time in life when you’ll have to leave everything behind and start something new but never forget the ones who stood by your side, especially the ones who never gave up on you.”
An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.
