6 years in prison possible

A La Plata County man pleaded guilty Friday in 6th Judicial District Court to attempted sexual assault of a child.
Edmundo Cuahutle-Solis, 40, faces probation or up to six years in prison after signing a plea agreement with the District Attorney’s Office.
Sentencing is set for 11 a.m. Feb. 24.
Cuahutle-Solis was arrested Aug. 26 by the La Plata County Sheriff’s Office after someone notified police of the allegations.
“Deputies and investigators with La Plata County Sheriff’s Office determined there was probable cause to believe ... Cuahutle-Solis committed sexual assault on a child earlier this year,” spokesman Dan Bender wrote in a news release.
