Man struck by vehicle in Farmington intersection

Initial investigation shows man walked in front of car

A Farmington man was in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle Saturday on East 20th Street.

Jose Luis Madrid, 32, “had a red traffic signal and crossed in front of the driver,” said Shanice Gonzales, Farmington Police spokeswoman.

The crash happened at 9:04 p.m. Aug. 10 at the intersection of East 20th Street and Sullivan Street.

“The initial investigation shows the driver was westbound on 20th Street with a green traffic signal,” Gonzales said.

Madrid was transported to San Juan Regional Medical Center, where he was in critical condition.
