John Mankins has been flirting with victory since Week 1 of this year’s Gridiron Green.
Week 11, he finally got one.
Mankins, with weeks of 12, 11, 11, 10 and 11, was one of a powerful foursome to score 13 of 15 in Week 11.
The Bayfield resident’s 35-17 tiebreaker in favor of the Broncos on Sunday Night Football separated himself from a final four all north of the century mark in the overall standings.
Alas, “dennis” (101), “RK CK” (102) and “shupie” (101) all had to play second fiddle “johnmank” and his lucky 13.
As for that overall, “bojangles” scored a 10 and holds a one-point lead over commute29; the latter gained a point and closed the gap with his 11 in Week 11 – both a far cry from “disco,” who decided to join the party (a little late) with a 1 for his first and only point this season. Disco, “disco,” is dead.
The Gridiron Guru was unspectacular save for his prediction of the Buccaneers going back-to-back for their first and second wins of the season. The Guru went 9-6 in Week 11 to break his string of consecutive .500 weeks and now is 93-66 overall in 2013.

New Orleans at Atlanta (NFL Network) – The Falcons just lost to the Buccaneers. The Saints just beat the 49ers. Pick: Saints, 33-17. Line: Saints by 9.

Minnesota at Green Bay – Without Aaron Rodgers, this should be as simple as handing the ball to Adrian Peterson. All. Day. Pick: Vikings, 20-13. Line: Packers by 4½.
Jacksonville at Houston – The Jaguars are playing better. The Texans are crumbling. Pick: Jaguars, 23-14. Line: Texans by 10.
San Diego at Kansas City (KCNC, KREZ) – The Chiefs are who we thought they were. Pick: Chiefs, 17-13. Line: Chiefs by 5.
Chicago at St. Louis – In a battle of the backups, I’ll take the home one coming off his bye week. Pick: Rams, 24-17. Line: Rams by 1.
Pittsburgh at Cleveland – The Steelers rediscovered their offense last week. Pick: Steelers, 22-17. Line: Browns by 2.
Tampa Bay at Detroit – The Buc stops here. After two in a row, the Guru is jumping off the Bucs’ ship. Pick: Lions, 30-20. Line: Lions by 9.
N.Y. Jets at Baltimore – There was a Ray Rice sighting last week in Chicago. Pick: Ravens, 17-15. Line: Ravens by 3½.
Carolina at Miami – The Dolphins might have pulled off a Chargers’ upset last week in South Beach, but the Panthers are a different beast of late. Pick: Panthers, 23-20. Line: Panthers by 4.
Tennessee at Oakland – From Matt Flynn to Terrelle Pryor to Matt McGloin. Wow. Pick: Raiders, 20-17. Line: Raiders by 1½.
Indianapolis at Arizona – The Colts are searching for consistency; that’s hard to find in the desert. Pick: Cardinals, 21-20. Line: Cardinals by 2.
Dallas at N.Y. Giants (KASA) – Giants have won four in a row; Cowboys are coming off the bye. Pick: Cowboys, 30-23. Line: Giants by 2½.
