I’ve known Sweetie Marbury for many years and urge Durango residents to re-elect her to City Council. Sweetie brings not only years of experience on city boards and commissions – and a first term – she also brings a gracefully professional style to the council’s business.

Along with Dick White, Sweetie led the City’s strong endorsement of the community-based and widely supported Hermosa Creek legislation, which became law in December. She actively listened and analyzed the issues surrounding accessory-dwelling units and supported a balanced policy for allowing them while managing their impacts.

Of special significance to my own neighborhood, Sweetie was instrumental in securing speed-sensing lights on our streets, markedly reducing the number of speeding cars. Our kids – mine included – are much safer thanks to Sweetie. She deserves a second term.
