I would like to add my name to the many who strongly urge this community to abstain from signing the petition to recall our county commissioner, Gwen Lachelt. Gwen has served this community very well, and it is sad to see how she has been apparently selected by a national political organization as a target for removal from office.
I have known Gwen personally for many years, and I know her to be a caring, thoughtful, passionate, dedicated, hard-working, creative, intelligent and kind individual, who I believe is doing everything in her power to serve this community’s needs to the best of her ability.
She will be term-limited soon, and it will indeed be sad to see that day come, but I can think of no legitimate reason that we the people should even be considering her early removal.
