Durango High School junior Matthew Lavengood has a pretty good grip on his wrestling game, which Bayfield High School freshman Ryan Nava now can attest after their scrimmage Friday night at DHS. Lavengood, after a turn in the CHSAA Class 4A Wrestling State Championships a season ago, spent time in Germany this offseason with an elite group of Colorado wrestlers on an international travel team.
Isaac Pena of Ignacio High School took his turn on the wrestling mat against Guy Wallace of Dolores on Friday night at Durango High School, part of a five-team preseason scrimmage with Bayfield, Durango and Pagosa Springs.
