McCaw, Conley-Chapman, Little tops on Ignacio school board

Kelly McCaw, Yvonne Conley-Chapman and Doug Little appear to have won the three available seats in the Ignacio School District board elections Tuesday.

It was as crowded of a field for school board as anyone can remember with eight candidates. Several of the past school board elections have been canceled.

Of 2,312 votes cast, McCaw is a clear winner, receiving 627 votes, or 27.12 percent.

Conley-Chapman garnered 368 votes or 15.92 percent. Little came in third with 311 votes or 13.45 percent.

Incumbent Agnes Sanchez appeared to be the fourth-place candidate, with 243 votes, or 10.51 percent, followed by Jay Dee Brunson drew 228 votes, or 9.86 percent.

Michael Montoya garnered 208 votes, or 9 percent of votes cast. Next was Cynthia Dale with 187 votes or 8.09 percent, and Germaine Ewing bought in 140 votes or 6.06 percent.

Part of the Ignacio School District extends into Archuleta County, which did not have final results by 9 p.m. Tuesday.
