McCaw, Conley-Chapman, Little win Ignacio School Board race

Kelly McCaw, Yvonne Conley-Chapman and Doug Little appear to have won the three available seats in the Ignacio School District board elections Tuesday.

It was as crowded of a field for school board as anyone can remember with eight candidates. Several of the past school board elections have been canceled.

Of 2,312 votes cast in La Plata County, McCaw was the clear winner, receiving 627 votes, or 27.12 percent.

Conley-Chapman garnered 368 votes or 15.92 percent. Little came in third with 311 votes or 13.45 percent.

In Archuleta County, Conley-Chapman was the top votegetter with 67 votes, followed by 61 votes for McCaw.

Incumbent Agnes Sanchez was the fourth-place candidate in La Plata County, with 243 votes, or 10.51 percent, followed by Jay Dee Brunson with 228 votes, or 9.86 percent.

Michael Montoya garnered 208 votes, or 9 percent of votes cast. Next was Cynthia Dale with 187 votes or 8.09 percent, and Germaine Ewing bought in 140 votes, 6.06 percent.
