When Tim McClellan won “Ellen’s Design Challenge” and was then suddenly disqualified for plagiarizing someone else’s design, people wanted to know more.
On Thursday, the part-time Durango resident appeared on Ellen DeGeneres’ talk show, “Ellen,” to explain that he did not remember ever seeing that design and had never heard of the designer, Simon Schacht.
She told him Schacht’s piece was brought to their attention by an “anonymous tip.”
