The Vallecito Service League announced its Citizen of the Year recipients at the annual installation banquet on Sept. 12 at the Vallecito Events Center.

Receiving a plaque for their time and efforts in opening a new marina were volunteers for the Vallecito Conservation and Sporting Association: Steve Ford, Jim Schank, Robin Wicka, Lisa Bourque, and Jared Hansen.

Another plaque was awarded to marina volunteers Kallen Elkins, Sharon Pace, Bruce Sutton and Frank Pace.

Marilyn McCord and Steve Walb were also honored as Citizens of the Year for their untiring dedication to Vallecito FireWise, along with the other volunteers they supervise. This year's banquet theme was "All That Jazz", the food was wonderful, and a good time was had by all.
