Medical care in Durango ‘inadequate’

My adult daughter had a detached retina. Repair had to be in Albuquerque and follow-up appointments have to be in Farmington, for which someone must go with her to drive home. My wife has a bad back problem, for which she has been repeatedly treated locally with no cure. Now, she may have to fly to Denver or Dallas.

Both daughter and wife have good medical insurance, but who pays for the transportation that is needed only because medical care here in Durango is inadequate? I am going to find out - in court if needed. But the real problem here is inadequate available medical care right here at home. We have a friend who is in painful need of hip surgery, and can’t get a surgical appointment until August! People, this is no good.
