I was one of the more than 1,000 people attending the Tuesday night planning meeting at the fairgrounds.
The Durango Herald failed to mention, in its Jan. 17 article about this meeting, the two most important facts we found out that night:
First, our commissioners did not even read the new codes before sending them to the public.
Second, the consulting company hired at a cost of $250,000 (that we paid for) was from Dallas. Why hire a company that has no clue about living in La Plata County?
Please re-elect not one of these commissioners. They have proven not worthy of our votes.
