I am the vice chair of the city’s Utilities Commission and attended the meeting Chad Fox mentioned in his letter (Herald, March 26). Other attendees were the commission’s chairman, Chris Wilbur; City Councilors Sweetie Marbury and Dick White, liaison to the Utilities Commission; City Manager Ron LeBlanc; and a few members of city staff.

There were no outside consultants or other outside parties there. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the Utilities Commission’s views on alternate sites for a wastewater treating plant. In my opinion, the format of the meeting was appropriate as private property parcels were discussed. You have my assurance that nothing nefarious occurred.
