Memorial Day service was lovely in Allison

The Allison, Tiffany, Arboles and surrounding communities assembled at the Allison-Tiffany Cemetery on May 26 for a Memorial Day ceremony honoring our loved ones, veterans and peace for everyone.  There were over 55 people attending the ceremony.  Flags had been placed on the graves of veterans.

Jimmy Sutton and Lynn Swanemyr raised the flag as the Durango Acapella Quartet sang the national anthem.  Pastor Al TeBrink led the opening and closing prayers along with a message.  Vickie Sutton played a Memorial Day song on the dulcimer and Tyller Gummersal played and sang "Proud to be an American" with the audience joining. The quartet ended the service with a medley of several songs.

The cemeteries were well groomed thanks to David and Evelyn Engler.  Refreshments were served with lots of visiting afterwards. Thanks to all friends, neighbors and families that help make this a special day.
