The Men in Heels Race will take place at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 5 help raise money for the Women’s Resource Center, which advocates for the empowerment of women and girls in La Plata County, and The Gena Rych Scholarship Fund in memory of Gena Rych to celebrate her life and spirit.
Races will be run in two team heats, with the three fastest winning teams advancing to the final round. This is a relay race with each man running in high heels a full length of the course before passing a baton to his teammate. Trophies will be awarded to first, second and third place teams.
Each team is asked to raise a minimum of $1,000. Money may be raised through company donations, team member pledges and sponsorships.
