Men Who Grill registration now open

The Women’s Resource Center recently opened registration for the 15th annual Men Who Grill competition and benefit for women and girls who live in La Plata County, scheduled for June 9 in Buckley Park.

Grilling teams are expected to prepare 500 to 600 small, appetizer portions of their cuisine for attendees to sample. For example, a portion might be one rib, one wing one ounce of beef, two shrimp, etc. A panel of local judges will select competition winners and festival attendees will vote for their favorite team dish for the People’s Choice Award.

Grilling teams may recruit sponsors to pay for expenses or they can pair with businesses to keep costs at a minimum. Teams are also encouraged to dress up in costumes and decorate their booth to win prizes for best theme and decor.

Registration is free and teams must supply their own grills and food to cook and serve.
