Mercy Regional Medical Center, for the second consecutive year, has been recognized as a 2013 Top Performer on Key Quality Measures by The Joint Commission. It was so recognized for 2012 accomplishments.
The Joint Commission is an independent, nonprofit medical-facility accrediting organization.
Top Performer rates hospitals for improving outcomes for heart attack and heart failure, pneumonia, stroke, children’s asthma, prenatal care, inpatient psychiatric services and immunizations.
Mercy is one of 712 hospitals to get Top Performer recognition for two years running. The 2013 recognition went to 1,224 hospitals.
