Thank you for publishing the “Context for petition to improve health care” at Mercy Regional Medical Center (Herald, Oct. 23). Mr. Parker’s Oct. 17 letter to the editor caught my attention and the follow-up information contained in the petition to Centura leadership provided needed context.
As a 30-year Durango resident, I add my voice to those expressing the expectation that our community hospital provide the highest quality work environment and recognize the importance of satisfied employees.
Achieving that goal may involve many steps, but kudos to the Herald staff for helping to focus attention on the problem and initiate a communitywide conversation.
