Has anyone looked at a USDA Forest Service website recently? Every page contains a banner blaming “Radical Left Democrats” for the government shutdown, and claiming that Donald Trump “has made it clear he wants to keep the government open and support those who feed, fuel, and clothe the American people.” What an unprofessional and childish politicization of a proud federal agency, reflecting the worst impulses that characterize the Trump Gang.
At least the National Park Service (my one-time employer) manages to avoid that finger-pointing in its alert about reduced services.
It’s so sad what’s happening to our public lands management agencies, and the land and wildlife resources they manage. From the East Wing of the White House to the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, the Republican Party-sanctioned destruction continues.
