Durango’s Trudy Mickel is one of four girls to be selected to represent the U.S. at the Junior World Championships for moguls.

Trudy Mickel continues to soar on skis.

The Durangoan was selected as one of four girls to represent the United States at the Junior World Championships for moguls, which will be held April 3-7 in Valmalenco, Italy. She currently is competing at the Junior Nationals in Sun Valley, Idaho.

Mickel, who was born in 2001, is the youngest girls to be selected for the Junior World 19-and-under team and is the lone Colorado native. She is also the only girl who will represent the U.S. who is not a current member of the U.S. Ski Team.

The top junior mogul skiers in the world will share the stage in Italy. Top World Cup competitors will be in attendance.

Mickel is fresh off the NorAm mogul tour across the U.S. and Canada, and she finished 10th overall with a podium finish at Killington, Vermont.
