Mill Street meeting set for May 11

Bayfield town and area residents are invited to a community meeting on Wednesday, May 11, at the Pine River Library to learn about Mill Street revitalization efforts and what the town is doing to implement some recommendations from a community assessment that was done in March 2015.

The meeting will start at 7 p.m. There will be free food and drinks. Participants can learn about plans to move the farmers market from the Highway 160 roadside park to Mill Street, and a food summit planned for this fall. Summer activities are being planned on Mill Street. Local artisans, food producers, musicians, and other people of interest are invited to attend.

Downtown Colorado Inc. did a community assessment for Bayfield in March 2015 and presented a list of recommendations. One of those was to create town branding. That process is now happening, as reported in the April 22 Times.
