Miller Middle School basketball team defeats Bayfield to win a league title
The Miller Middle School A team captured a league championship Dec. 14, claiming the title with a 44-36 victory over Bayfield in the championship game.
En route to the title, Miller knocked off Escalante and top-seeded Pagosa Springs before downing Cortez in the semifinal. Scores for those games were not reported to The Durango Herald.
Miller turned the tide on Bayfield in the championship game after Bayfield topped Miller twice during the regular season.
The Miller A championship team, coached by Geno Trujillo, is Kyle Brown, Trevor Candelaria, Eli Fenton, Gavin Mestas, Will Meyer, Chandler Schneider, Steven Sigilito, Noah Toro and Brandon Trujillo.
