A student at Miller Middle School tested positive for COVID-19, the district confirmed Tuesday night, and one cohort of 15 students at the school began a 14-day quarantine Wednesday.
The district sent out a notification to students and families to inform them about the exposure, and the district notified families with children in the cohort separately.
Miller Middle remains open for students in the blended and in-person models, and no other schools have been affected by the exposure, according to the notification sent out by Julie Popp, 9-R’s spokeswoman.
Five or six adults also are in quarantines stemming from the exposure incident, Popp said.
Quarantines will end Nov. 11.
The district is working with San Juan Basin Public Health on contact tracing, and it is implementing its response plan to deal with an exposure at a school.
