Local physician assistant Mindy Jordeth with be joining Adam Owens, MD, of Durango Primary Care in March. Jordeth is a physician assistant who will accept her own patients and work collaboratively with Owens, a board-certified family physician.

Durango Primary Care is for all ages and is located at the Rivergate Medical Complex. It is a different kind of health clinic known as direct primary care. The new clinic model skips health insurance in order to address some common pain points in primary care, including long wait times, confusing bills and difficulty communicating with the provider.

In direct primary care, patients pay an affordable monthly or annual membership fee, between $25 and $109 per month, based on age. Enrolled patients receive comprehensive primary care services including preventive services, chronic disease management, acute care, same day and after-hours care. The clinic also does mental health, men’s and women’s health and medical weight loss. Enrolled patients have access to wholesale lab work and pharmacy, right from the clinic. It’s ideal for patients with inexpensive, high deductible insurance plans or patients looking for a different primary care experience.

Durango Primary Care is currently taking patients. For more information, visit www.durangoprimarycare.com or call (970) 296-5363.
