A missing persons report has been filed for Durango resident Lois Wisniewski-Baumgartner, who disappeared Wednesday.
La Plata County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Nathan Harris said police are looking for Wisniewski-Baumgartner’s 1997 Subaru Outback, which bears the bumper sticker “Grow your own stache for peace” and a “560-VIS” license plate number.
Wisniewski-Baumgartner, 55, has blonde hair and should have most of her belongings in her car. She has been a resident of Durango for six years.
“We don’t have a good location to find her, but it sounds like she knows the area,” Harris said.
Wisniewski-Baumgartner’s daughter, Tori Wilson, reported her missing after Wisniewski-Baumgartner took off after an argument. Wilson said her mother’s phone has been off for five days, and she could be suffering from emotional instability.
“I have no idea what she would do,” Wilson said.
Harris said Wisniewski-Baumgartner has been entered into a national database of missing persons. Police will be on the lookout for her car or any tips that would help in locating her.
“As of today, there’s no new information,” he said.
