Southwestern Colorado Area Health Education Center announced that a swift water rescue demonstration will be held for its Health Careers Camp from noon to 3 p.m. Monday on the Animas River near Cundiff Park, off of South Camino del Rio.
Residents are reminded that river activity at the time and location of the event is likely part of the demonstration and should not be cause for alarm. The mock trauma event is coordinated by Flexible Flyers Rafting and is conducted to teach campers about safety, basic emergency-response techniques and first-responder and EMS health care careers.
