MOLAS Scholarship application available

The Community Foundation serving Southwest Colorado has opened the application for a scholarship opportunity for first-generation college students. The MOLAS Scholarship – Meaningful Opportunity through Learning and Advancement Scholarship – is need-based for low-income people, including nontraditional students, whose parents did not complete a bachelor’s degree. To be eligible, a student must be a rising first-year college student in fall 2024.

The person who receives this scholarship will get up to 85% of their tuition and room and board covered at any Four Corners or Colorado college, university, trade school or vocational school. The MOLAS Scholarship is renewable for up to four years.

The deadline to apply for the MOLAS scholarship is March 1 and decisions will be announced in early April. The 2024 scholarship winner will be selected from La Plata County. In future years, residents of other Southwest Colorado counties may be eligible.

The online application can be accessed on the Community Foundation’s website, swcommunityfoundation.org/scholarships.
