Brilliant sunshine overwhelmed growing clouds Monday morning as a kayaker passes Rotary Park on the Animas River. The National Weather Service says the afternoon clouds seen during the last several days in Southwest Colorado have come from northern systems – not monsoonal rains, which come from the tropical south.
