Motorcyclist killed in crash west of Durango

A motorcyclist died after rear-ending a Porsche on Thursday west of Durango.

The crash was reported at 4:54 p.m. near mile marker 77 of U.S. Highway 160, about 3½ miles east of the summit of Hesperus Hill, said Master Trooper Gary Cutler, with the Colorado State Patrol.

The crash was blocking traffic, but the highway remained open.

The motorcyclist is suspected of being at fault, Cutler said.

No further information was immediately available Thursday night.
