Mountain Bike Specialists will celebrate 50 years of doing business from noon to 6 p.m. March 1.
An open house that includes drinks and snacks will be held at the bike shop, 949 Main Ave.
“We are grateful to the residents of the Four Corners who have supported us for decades. Our key has been identifying trends and making the necessary changes along the way,” said owner Ed Zink in a news release.
On March 1, 1968, Zink, then a college student, bought Crawley’s Sporting Goods, and operated The Outdoorsman – the business that would eventually evolve into Mountain Bike Specialists.
Mountain Bike Specialists has been named to the top 100 list and recognized as the best mountain bike shop of 2016 by the National Bicycle Dealer’s Association.
