Mountain Hyperbarics has welcomed life-long Durango resident Lorrie Valencia as a new team member and hyperbaric technician.
Valencia attended the University of Arizona and Fort Lewis College where she pursued a major in biology and minor in psychology. She received her practical nursing training from San Juan Basin Vo-Technical School and her associates degree of nursing from Pueblo Community College in Durango. She worked for Mercy Regional Medical Center, Four Corners Health Care Center, private-duty home health care, Axis Health System and has been involved in private alcohol and drug screening.
Valencia feels being tri-ethnic lends to a greater understanding of all the different races and cultures which make up this area. She looks forward to using her vast local connections with healthcare providers to educate and bring hyperbaric oxygen therapy to a greater number of people.
