Mountain Middle School’s sixth-grade humanities students will host an “Alice in Wonderland” exhibition and book release party from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the ballroom at Fort Lewis College.
Inspired by Lewis Carroll’s imagination and classic books, each sixth-grader has created a personal project that reflects his or her sense of Alice’s adventures. In addition, the students have self-published an anthology of their own writings, which will be for sale at the event.
This exhibition is more of a literary festival than a school event, a celebration of the impact of the Alice stories on the culture and on these children’s sense of adolescence.
People who attend will be encouraged to discuss how great literature reflects real life as well as assess their professionalism, enthusiasm and hard work.
