Mountain Studies Institute offers invasive weed control assistance

Mountain Studies Institute and Southwest Conservation Corps have received funding from the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist landowners with control of invasive weed infestation as a result of impacts from the 416 Fire.

Assistance will include herbicide spraying of invasive weeds by a Southwest Conservation Corps crew. Preference will be given to low-income applicants. Work will be scheduled from July 22 to July 25. Follow-up re-seeding will take place in late fall, and the organizations will ask for participant volunteer assistance.

Those interested may contact Amanda Kuenzi at 387-5161 or amanda@mountainstudies.org.
