Mountain Studies Institute will host the inaugural San Juan Resilience Youth Summit, “Resilience in the Face of Wildfire,” from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the La Plata County Fairgrounds, 2500 Main Ave.
The San Juan Resilience Youth Summit is a forum for middle school and high school students to investigate the links between wildfire, forest conditions, watershed health and air quality. Students will present to an audience of several schools, land managers and community leaders. They will also have time to attend presentations, choosing from several options.
The public and families are invited to attend this free event.
