Move Manna to homeless camp area

Having been around Durango for nine years now, there has been one constant; the location, resources needed, and effects of the homeless population on Durango.

One probably cannot count the number of hours and resources that have been dedicated to this subject. But, on and on it goes with the most recent discussion revolved around moving the camp once again to the new proposed location and the resulting effects it would have on the neighborhood the homeless would pass through to get to the resources they need. (I purposely have not named the new proposed site as it does not matter where it will be relocated because the issue will continue wherever it may land.)

One of the main resources the homeless population needs is Manna kitchen. A wonderful resource, Manna is located near the edge of Durango and close to the proposed homeless encampment, but not close enough. Everyone is in favor of the location of the new camp if it is not in their backyard. Residents of the closest neighborhood the homeless have to pass through to access the Manna have legitimate concerns as would I if it were located in my neighborhood.

So what to do. There is a simple, yet expensive solution that I believe Durango needs to come to grips with. Move the resources (Manna) to the camp area. You may call me naive but, the problem will not go away until Durango stops applying temporary solutions to a permanent issue.
