Wayne’s World

Originally a skit on “Saturday Night Live” during the late ’80s and early ’90s, “Wayne’s World” is about two teenage dudes who host a public access TV show, which is mainly about rock, babes and people who live in the area. One day, Wayne and Garth go to a rock concert, and Wayne falls in love with a bass guitarist named Cassandra Wong. Wayne spends the rest of the movie trying to get Casandra to fall in love with him. He also struggles with a network executive who wants to buy the rights to his show. Rated PG-13.

Late Night

A legendary late-night talk show host’s world is turned upside down when she hires her only female staff writer. Originally intended to smooth over diversity concerns, her decision has unexpectedly hilarious consequences as the two women separated by culture and generation are united by their love of a biting punchline. Rated R.

Shaft

“Shaft” is the next chapter in the film franchise featuring the coolest private eye on any New York City block. JJ, aka John Shaft Jr. (Usher), may be a cyber security expert with a degree from MIT, but to uncover the truth behind his best friend’s untimely death, he needs an education only his dad can provide. Absent throughout JJ’s youth, the legendary locked-and-loaded John Shaft (Jackson) agrees to help his progeny navigate Harlem’s heroin-infested underbelly. And while JJ’s own FBI analyst’s badge may clash with his dad’s trademark leather coat, there’s no denying family.
