Robert Mueller served in Vietnam as a Marine lieutenant platoon leader, who received a Bronze Star with Valor (awards with Valor were rare and heroic), a Purple Heart for the enemy bullet that went into his thigh, the Navy Commendation Medal with Valor and was inducted into the U.S. Army Rangers’ Hall of Fame.
He held a fellow G.I. who had a head wound and would die in his arms. He led the investigations of thousands of FBI personnel for the 9/11 attacks. He is a distinguished Republican, who chose to fight crime and indecency for a career as a public servant.
Donald Trump boasted in 1998 on Howard Stern’s show that Trump should have received a “Congressional Medal of Honor” for what his “personal Vietnam” challenged: all the women he was having sex with presented a constant threat of sexually-transmitted diseases.
So, while Mueller and many of us were fighting the VC, Trump fought VD.
