The Local First Creative Arts Initiative will unveil a mural that illustrates what makes Durango special at 5 p.m. Friday at Durango Joes, 732 E. College Drive.
A free event will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Food will be provided, and attendees will have the opportunity to speak to project sponsors. The mural will be featured on the west-facing wall of the coffee shop.
Words painted on the wall were chosen by community members.
Three gold-level sponsors contributed, including Durango Joes, Studs Lumber and Fort Lewis College. Additional sponsors include the Ore House, Homeslice Pizza, Purgatory Resort, Kroegers Ace Hardware, Ted’s Rental and Sales, Annette LeMaire and Steve and Emile Elias.
