Our government is in trouble. We all see that, we all worry about it, yet until now, I have not seen a way out of this dilemma.
The two-party system simply doesn’t work. Both the Democrats and the Republicans build idea forts on their side of the party lines and fling the arrows of anger, accusations and blame. These two disparate parties cannot keep bouncing back and forth and expect to get anything done. We need mediation in the form of a voice for reasonable solutions.
There is a whole middle ground of voters caught in the crossfire and who see the problems created by the extremes. We are waiting for the battle to become thoughtful communication; we have waited long enough.
We need delegates in the middle ground, where reason and compromise is encouraged and supported by the vast number of reasonable and level headed voters.
Our political system has sunk into quicksand instead of moving forward in a spirit of cooperation.
Colorado Rep. Barbara McLachlan has done well even with the constraints placed upon her by the Democrats, but we need to break the walls down and find other voices that speak for the people, not the party they owe their allegiance to.
Paul Jones has no special interest groups, no party-line ties. His campaign slogan is People before Party. This may be the beginning, a voice to address the values of the middle ground.
My vote for Paul Jones is my vote for change.
