I am writing to let the city planning department know I know of nobody, except maybe Alvie Moore and Craig Roser, who have driven the soon to be named roadway to the old River City Hall property more than Greg Hoch.
Greg came to work, did his job and went home, only to have to go to City Council meetings many evenings, never complaining. It was his job for 35 years.
Now, you have a dilemma – what to name this new street? I can think of only one name – Greg Hoch Way. Don’t make the mistake carried out by others who named the lake south of town Lake Nighthorse. It should have been named Lake Bodo or Lake Kroeger. Do the right thing this time and name the street after the right person – Greg Hoch.
And what Greg helped accomplish in stopping the firehouse to be moved to the old 9-R building and helping it get moved to the River City Hall property goes with out saying. A stroke of genius.
