Residents of House District 59 deserve capable, experienced leadership representing Southwest Colorado at the State Capitol. In my view, Naomi Riess is the right person for the job.
Naomi has a deep understanding of the issues that shape our region and our future. From land use and water to energy development and the relationship between city, county and state government, she understands how these complex systems affect the people who live and work here. Just as importantly, Naomi understands that good policy must reflect the needs and priorities of all the people of Southwest Colorado.
Over the years, Naomi has built strong relationships throughout the district and earned the respect of community leaders, business owners, ranchers, and families alike. She knows the people, the challenges we face and how to bring the right voices to the table to find practical solutions.
I have known Naomi for almost 25 years, and during that time we have worked together on a variety of community projects. One that stands out involved organizing After Prom events at Durango High School while our children were students there. Even then, Naomi demonstrated the leadership, dedication and organizational skills that continue to define her today.
Southwest Colorado will benefit from Naomi Riess’ experience, commitment and ability to get things done. I am proud to support her candidacy for House District 59.
