Chelsea Clinton says she is pregnant
WASHINGTON – Chelsea Clinton says she and her husband are expecting their first child later this year.
The daughter of former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton announced at a Clinton Foundation event in New York that she and her husband, Marc Mezvinsky, are “very excited” to be having their first child later this year.
The former first lady says she’s “really excited” about becoming a grandmother and it makes the work of empowering future generations even more important.
Texas town may rebuild destroyed plant
WEST, Texas – The mayor of a Texas town where a fertilizer plant explosion killed 15 people says local officials are considering building a new one.
West Mayor Tommy Muska acknowledged Thursday that the idea is highly controversial among local residents. But he notes that his central Texas town’s economy revolved around the West Fertilizer Co. before the facility was leveled by a fire and explosion a year ago.
More victims ID’d from Washington mudslide
OSO, Wash. – Authorities have identified three more bodies pulled from the debris of the mudslide that swept through the Washington town of Oso last month.
All 39 victims recovered have been identified, the Snohomish County medical examiner’s office said Thursday, and four names remain on the list of the missing. Crews continue to dig through the devastation with a swarm of excavators.
The latest victims identified are Wyatt M. Ruthven, 4, of Arlington; Sandra K. Miller, 64, of Everett; and Ronald P. Dequilettes, 52, of Arlington. All died of multiple blunt force injuries.
